Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva Sees Progress in Budget Passage, but Urges Greater funding for Orange County and for Higher Education
Legislature passes on-time budget for seventh consecutive year
SACRAMENTO âThe California State Assembly passed its 2017-2018 budget bill today with a 59-20-1 vote. Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva (D â Orange County) issued the following statement after the vote:
âThis on-time, balanced budget exemplifies fiscal restraint, strengthens the stateâs rainy day fund, increases public oversight, and makes targeted investments in our communities,â said Quirk-Silva. âFor instance, it brings opportunities and much needed resources to working families with the Earned Income Tax Credit Expansion.â
