Quirk-Silva Honors Philippine Independence Day

(Sacramento) – Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva (D–Orange County) stood on the Floor of the Assembly to speak on behalf of the California Legislative Latino Caucus on Assembly Concurrent Resolution 95, which recognizes June 12th, 2017 as the 119th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and would call upon the people of the state to observe the month of June with appropriate ceremonies and celebration. “Philippine Independence Day is a reminder of the proud self-determination of Filipinos in exercising their right to liberty and independence,” said Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva. “Even in the face of great odd in this country, Philippine-Americans have fed us, helped fight our wars, and devoted their lives to make this a great nation.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
