Less than 30 percent of researchers worldwide are women. On International Day of Women and Girls in Science, lets change that narrative.
I encourage all young women in our district to continue their work and contributions to science and math. Your devotion to improving interest in science and mathematics for the next generation is going to path the way for many young women to pursue promising careers in a variety of scientific fields.
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. Today, I signed a pledge to support ending domestic violence for women and teens.

Today, I rose and coauthored HR-79 American Heart Month and Wear Red Day in the Capitol.
This February, show your loved one you care with your whole heart. Capitol Goes Red Day is to raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women.
Prevention is a key component to living a healthy life, which is why knowledge of this disease and recent medical advancements is crucial for you and your family’s health
Today, I stand with the incredible women leaders of the California Legislative Women's Caucus and joined by our female Constitutional Officers to take a photo in solidarity for the Suffrage Centennial!
The memorial services for John Altobelli, his wife Keri and their daughter Alyssa will be held at Angel Stadium on Monday, Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. The public is invited.
