(Irvine) â Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (D- Orange County) gives her remarks at the dedication ceremony of a project site for Orange County's first veterans cemetery. "I too come from a veteran family, my father serving in Korea and my brother in the Coast Guard," Quirk-Silva said. "Both of them have passed away and have been buried for a long time but I too will be in line once this is open, to bring my family closer here to Orange County." When construction is complete, the Orange County Veteran Cemetery will address the shortage of Southern California military gravesites, adding enough sites to serve the needs of veterans for the next 100 years.
