(Sacramento) â When the California Manufacturing/Research & Development tax incentive program was created in 2013 the goal was to increase investment in good paying manufacturing and research and development jobs but ambiguities and eligibility restrictions kept the benefits from being widely and fully utilized. Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (D-Fullerton) says new legislation (AB 600) can bring the CMRD program closer to its revenue-neutral targets and attract more jobs and investment to California. âIn order to keep the California dream alive for working families we need to make sure that they have jobs to go to that move them up into the middle class,â Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva said.
