
Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention Program

The Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention program finances the development of affordable rental housing, supportive housing, and transitional housing for Veterans, with an emphasis on housing for those experiencing homelessness and those with extremely low income. The program is administered by HCD, in collaboration with the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) and the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA).
The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), in partnership with the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) and the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA), has released the Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention program Supplemental and Universal applications. The VHHP Round 6 Notice of Funding Availability was released on May 3, 2021, for approximately $75 million.
The Financial Assistance Application Submittal Tool (FAAST) portal is open and ready to accept applications. The FAAST Instruction Manual is available for assistance to submit and review your application.
Applications are due July 15, 2021 by 5:00 p.m.
