SACRAMENTO, CA –Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (D – Fullerton) has been appointed as the Chair of Assembly Committee on Budget, Subcommittee No. 5 on State Administration by Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas (D – Salinas).
“The State Budget is a statement of the values California holds most sacred. It is about fulfilling our oath to our State by delivering essential services and improving the lives of every Californian, about protecting our reserves while upholding our duty to prioritize investments in housing, homelessness, and the programs that serve vulnerable Californians throughout the State,” said Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva. “I am honored that Speaker Rivas has entrusted me to Chair Assembly Budget Committee Sub 5, and I look forward to creating a stronger, more unified, and prosperous future for the Golden State.”

The Assembly Committee on Budget, Subcommittee No. 5 on State Administration oversees all departments responsible for housing and homelessness, revenue and taxation, labor, employment and retirement, cannabis, insurance and elections. The membership for this bipartisan committee will be named by the Speaker at a later date.
Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva represents the 67th Assembly District, which includes the Orange County communities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, and La Palma, as well as the Los Angeles County communities of Artesia, Cerritos, and Hawaiian Gardens.
