Reshoring of Manufacturing and California’s Competitiveness among topics
“The information from these hearings serves as the foundation from which the committee will undertake its primary missions of overseeing current state programs, and evaluating legislative proposals.” said Committee Chair, Sharon Quirk-Silva.
The Members of the Assembly will be briefed by and have the chance to ask questions of stakeholders on the 2017 issues and priorities. Witnesses include business and economic development leaders and state government officials.
While the focus of today's hearing is on 2017 policy and legislative priorities, future hearings will include presentations on topics such as:
- The health and vitality of the California economy;
- Demographic and economic trends affecting business development;
- Spotlights on major industry sectors;
- Legislative check-ins on previously adopted legislation; and
- An examination of how federal policy and fiscal changes could impact the California economy
