Orange County Lunar New Year Events

Red RoosterLunar New Year celebrations focus on shedding bad luck from the previous year, and welcoming the good luck the New Year brings. In observation of the Lunar New Year, the California Legislature recognizes January 28 as the beginning of the Year of the Rooster (ACR 4). The Lunar New Year is celebrated by millions of people throughout the state!

Vietnamese New Year Celebration in the City of Stanton

Children will learn about special holiday foods, games and customs for this joyful celebration. They will also make their own crafts to take home and learn about symbolic meanings behind traditional symbols. Light refreshments will be served. This activity is appropriate for children ages 6-12 years. The fee to participate is $10. For additional information please call (714) 890-4270.

36th Annual Tet Festival

Attractions include the Miss Vietnam of Southern California Pageant, music and dance performances, food vendors and games. One-day general admission, $6; three-day general admission, $12; children 2 and younger, free; those wearing military dress, traditional Vietnamese or other cultural clothing, free before noon Saturday.
